Title: Mixed-Signal Design with Programmable System-on Chip

Date: Thursday October 29th, 2009
Place: Bossone 302

Abstract
John Wisniewski, Principal Applications Engineer will present a 1 hour session on simplifying your system designs by using programmable analog.  This discussion will be based on three different PSoC (Programmable System on Chip) family architectures. After describing each basic architecture the presentation will dive deep into the programmable analog blocks and how they can be used to solve typical design issues as well as be used creatively in non-traditional applications.  The presentation will discuss how user modules and solutions are created by using configurable continuous time and switched capacitor blocks, hard analog IP as well as configu stions and discussion are heavily encouraged.

Bio
John Wisniewski is a Principal Field Applications Engineer for Cypress Semiconductor, having worked in this position for 14 years. Prior job experience includes 9 years of design experience in Medical Ultrasound and 2 years in Military Systems. John has written application notes, white papers and co-authored the “Perfect Timing” book. He has given dozens of seminars in PSoC microcontroller design, VHDL and Verilog for programmable logic as well as courses in Timing Analysis and Design Techniques. John has 2 patents issued in his name. He received his BSEE from Rutgers College EE from Drexel University.

Follow Up: Senior Design Help Session

August 17th, 2009

On August 13, Drexel HKN hosted a help session for Senior Design to allow students to ask questions about the process of finding a group, selecting a project, choosing an advisor, and all of the requirements to be met.  Dr. Eisenstein was on hand answering any all questions that students had, along with several other faculty members who presented projects that they need senior design teams for. This event was a huge success in no small part because of the faculty involvement, and student attendance. Thank you!
