    Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Graduate Student Guide

    ADMISSION CRITERIA

    GPA Requirement

    A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university. A degree in science (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.) is also acceptable. Applicants with degrees in sciences may be required to take a number of UG courses in ECE. An undergraduate degree earned abroad must be deemed equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's. A minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) for the last two years of undergraduate studies, as well as for any subsequent graduate-level work.

    GRE Requirement

    The GRE General Test is required of applicants for full-time studies to MS and Ph.D. programs. Students must receive a score of 1200 or better. Official documents of this exam must be submitted directly to the Graduate Admissions Office. Unofficial photocopies will not be accepted.


    TOEFL Requirement

    For students whose native language is not English and who do not hold a degree from a U.S.institution, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. TOEFL scores must be less than two years old to be considered. Minimum of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based) or 100 (internet-based). Official documents of this exam must be submitted directly to the Graduate Admissions Office. Unofficial photocopies will not be accepted.
