Department Head's Message to ECE Alumni
Dr. Moshe Kam
Robert G. Quinn Professor & Department Head
Dear Colleagues and Friends:
Welcome to the web pages of the ECE Department at Drexel University, your Alma Mater. Our Department has approximately 8,000 living alumni – a small army of friends and well wishers, to whose life we hope we have made a positive contribution. Drexel’s ECE alumni have made a clear mark on our society, and evidence of their industriousness and productivity is everywhere. Many have provided lifetime service to the electrical and computer engineering industries. They serve – at all professional and managerial ranks – in America’s aerospace, biomedical, telecommunications and manufacturing industries. They are also advancing and leading major corporations around the globe, from Korea to Brazil, and from Mexico to China. Other alumni flourish in academia, as professors, researchers, and academic administrators. Yet another group has branched into other professions – using Drexel’s strong offerings in engineering as a stepping stone to careers in medicine, law, business and finance.
Regardless of where your career and life experience have taken you, we at the ECE Department would like to keep in touch with you. We would like to let you know of the progress we are making, and make you better informed of what we are teaching, researching, and doing for the community. We would also like to hear from you, find out where and in what professional areas you are focusing your efforts, and what role the experience you have had at Drexel is playing in your life and career. Most importantly, we would like to invite you to see how we operate today. Unless you have visited the Department in the last few months, you are likely to be quite impressed with our new facilities in the Bossone Research Center, delight at out new laboratories and classrooms, and meet many new faculty members who provide the Department with energy, new research directions, and a strong “can do” attitude.
Whether you want to consider our Department for the education of a relative, have interest in our research, or merely want to know more about your old school, please feel free to contact us. You may also want to subscribe to our periodic newsletter. If you find yourself in our area please let us know, and invite yourself for a visit. You will be surprised how far we have progressed since you have been a student here, and we will be delighted to see you again among us.
Very truly yours,
Moshe Kam, Ph.D., P.E.
